Who is the Chameleon?
The Chameleon’s area role and the preparation behind Case Closed.
Table of contents
The Chameleon is Timesville’s area boss and appears at the film-set encounter. This character marks the point where the area’s exploration tasks lead into a fight-or-dialogue decision.
Release scope: Full release only. The Chameleon encounter is not part of the standalone demo.
Role in the encounter
| Player task | Verified direction | Focused page |
|---|---|---|
| Choose between fighting and talking | Compare the two achievement branches | Chameleon route comparison |
| Avoid the battle | Use the cemetery name, then choose Irony | Case Closed guide |
| Finish Timesville tasks first | Complete optional item and secret chains before advancing | Timesville area guide |
Direct combat leads to No Strings Attached. Resolving the identity-and-film dialogue leads to Case Closed. The ordinary fight remains a distinct branch; this page does not fill in incomplete combat mechanics with guesses.
Where this fits in Timesville
Timesville also contains the telescope, six-state fishing list, two-rooms puzzle, Lost Key secret, and a hydration point. Use the Timesville area guide when you need to organize those tasks before advancing.
Finish the optional Timesville item chains before advancing the encounter, because Chameleon progress can close the Lost Key opportunity. If that secret is your goal, complete the Lost Key route first.
Character boundary
The confirmed player-facing role is the Timesville fight-or-dialogue encounter. The route evidence does not establish a complete biography, so this page keeps story interpretation separate from the steps that affect play.
