Misery Town area guide
A task map for later Misery Town puzzles, its boss, and hidden projector setup.

Table of contents
Misery Town is the later full-release area built around theater films, colored clowns, medical imagery, and the Trapezist encounter. Several of its tasks share the same item chain.
Release scope: Full release only. Misery Town is not part of the standalone demo.
Circus and Misery Town are different route stages
Mellow recovers his hands earlier in the Chapter I Circus. That clown-mouth, train, checkerboard, and falling-rope sequence is not the later Misery Town Whack-a-Clown task. If hands are your current blocker, leave this page and use How to get Mellow’s hands back.
Theater, scalpel, and red ball
In Misery Town, the theater films identify which four colored clowns belong in the Whack-a-Clown answer. Completing that later puzzle gives the scalpel.
The scalpel then supports two different tasks:
- clear the operation mini-game and receive the red ball; or
- cut the Trapezist’s support rope to avoid her battle.
Use the Whack-a-Clown answer, the red ball guide, or the scalpel item page depending on your current blocker.
Trapezist choice
Fight the Trapezist by returning her thrown balls for Fatal Performance, or prepare the scalpel for Cut The Act. The Trapezist comparison shows both outcomes.
Hidden projector setup
The metal detector can locate a projector remote in the sandy theater/tent floor. Use the remote on the projector, then follow its map in the checkerboard room. This setup belongs to Misery Town’s Ending C requirement.
The internal secret mini-games beyond that entrance are not covered here. Use the Ending C requirements for the three-world planning boundary.
